Wiggins Return to Golden State Warriors Team
Andrew Wiggins was welcomed back to the Golden State Warriors team with open arms after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. The 26-year-old basketball player had been unable to participate in the team's practices and games due to the NBA's vaccine mandates.
The Warriors organization and fans were fascinated to have Wiggins back on the court. The team had struggled without his presence and his return brought back to the franchise a sense of normalcy. Wiggins hesitated to get the vaccine, he, however, had a change of heart after discussing the matter with his family and friends. He collected a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the urging of his coach and teammates, stating that he wanted to do what was best for the team.
"My career, everything, family's always first to me. It will always be that way. I felt like I was in a safe space to come back. We've got everything settled, not fully settled but in a safe place where I can come back", Andrew Wiggins said. He appreciated the support he received from the Golden State Warriors as a franchise and his teammates well, he thanked everyone for respecting his privacy
Warriors Team Reaction On Wiggins's Return
In his first game back, Wiggins played incredibly well, he scored 19 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and dished 2 assists. He looked like he had never missed a beat, and his teammates were quick to praise him for his performance.
Warriors' Star Player, Stephen Curry said about Wiggins, "He looked great out there. We missed him, and it's good to have him back. He's a big part of our team, and we need him to play like he did tonight."
Head Coach, Steve Kerr echoed Curry's sentiments, saying, "Andrew was fantastic tonight. He's a vital part of our team, and we're thrilled to have him back. He's worked hard to get back in shape, and it showed on the court."
